When we’re unwell and feel that something isn’t quite right with our bodies, thinking about having to schedule a visit to the doctor’s can be a daunting, intimidating prospect. “I’ve always had issues with my ankles, but there was a period of time where I was spraining my left ankle almost every month, simply by walking.” Francesca was understandably troubled, so when a friend, who recently underwent knee surgery with Shanghai United Family Healthcare, recommended she set up an appointment with his doctor, she did not hesitate.

Francesca also appreciated how efficient the hospital was in handling her case. “It didn’t take more than 2-3 weeks to schedule a date. I went to the hospital once before the big day, and got all my examinations and tests done and out of the way.” The next time she walked through the doors was for her operation itself. “Dr. Derk and Dr. Maskay handled my surgery. After, I underwent rehab with Dr. Renault once a week for several months.”

“Everyone, from the doctors to the nurses and hospital staff was so friendly and helpful,” Francesca recalled fondly. “Dr. Derk is a very highly respected doctor, he was so positive and made me feel so at ease. Dr. Maskay had such a warm smile and attitude. The hospital also made sure to call me the day after I was discharged just to check up on me and see how I was holding up. I really appreciated that.”

Overall, it was an easy, fuss-free process for Francesca.
