Dr. Keith Norman Williams received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Williams also holds a Master of Education, with a focus on curriculum and teaching, from Boston University School of Education in 2007. As of 2014, he is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Dr. Williams completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Afterwards, he completed a General Internal Medicine fellowship in medical education through the Master Educator Faculty Development Program at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Williams also has additional training in General Surgery.
Before joining Shanghai United Family Hospital, Dr. Williams practiced as a physician at Boston University Medical Center, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, the Veteran Affairs Boston Healthcare System, and served as the chief medical officer aboard the barque Picton Castle at the Windward Isles Sailing Ship Company. In addition, Dr. Williams has volunteered for Project Hope, an NGO based in Millwood, Virginia. He specializes in providing urgent and emergent care, primary care, and hospital medicine.
Dr. Williams is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and a member of the American College of Physicians. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
