Associate Medical Staff Child Psychiatry
Dr. Tad Pu graduated from Nanjing Medical University with a medical degree in 1987 and completed his residency in child psychiatry at the Nanjing Child Mental Health Research Center. Between 1992 and 1996, he studied at the University of North Texas Medical Center and Texas Christian University for a Master of Special Education degree specializing in behavioral therapy for children with special needs. Upon completing his degree, Dr. Pu worked as a behavioral therapist and special education teacher from 1996 to 2001.
Dr. Pu has extensive experience working with children with developmental disorders and social, emotional and behavioral needs in both academic and clinical settings. He is certified in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Sensory Integration by Western Psychological Services (WPS). Additionally, he completed the WISC-IV Chinese Version Testing Qualification Training. From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Pu worked as the director of Rainbow Project in Hong Kong providing behavioral and educational services for children with autism and developmental disorders. Since 2003, Dr. Pu has trained child psychiatrists and pediatricians in China in developmental disorders. In 2009, Dr. Pu established Rainbow Consulting Services in Beijing to provide services to children with behavioral and emotional needs. Since then, Dr. Pu and his team have worked with many children with behavioral, emotional and learning needs ages 2 to 18 from both local and international kindergartens and schools.
Dr. Pu is a member of the Autism Society of America, the U.S. Tourette Syndrome Association, and the U.K. National Autistic Society. He is also an international member of Academy of American Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Pu received the Outstanding Special Education Teacher of the Year award of the city of Fort Worth, Texas (U.S.) in 1998.
