Mr. Zhang has several areas of specialty including the treatment of various types of mood disorders, interpersonal relationships, personal growth and overall well-being of adults and adolescents. In his clinical practice, Mr. Zhang has received systematic training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), etc. He also has extensive experience in group therapy, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills groups and psychodynamic growth groups.

Education:

Mr. Zhang received his bachelor’s degree from East China Normal University in 2017, and was later awarded a master’s degree in professional counseling from University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Zhang has over 7 years of clinical experience. Before joining United Family Healthcare Shanghai Service Area, Mr. Zhang served in Shanghai Mental Health Center as a specialist in mood disorders, psychosis, personal growth, emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships and other issues in mental health. Mr. Zhang is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania, US, and a licensed psychotherapist in the Chinese public health system. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Zhang has also involved himself in the translation of publications including Core Clinical Competencies in Counseling and Psychotherapy, Intergenerational Couple Therapy, and the Cambridge Guide to Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), etc.
