Dr Brockwell performs both established and innovative procedures for hip and pelvic problems, especially in young people, including: cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections; autologous tenocyte implantation (for hamstring and gluteal tendon problems); hip arthroscopy (mainly for Femoro-Acetabular Impingement); various types of hips replacement, including Birmingham Hip Resurfacing and conventional total hip replacement; and revision hip replacement; pelvic and femoral osteotomies (for dysplasia and increased femoral anteversion); treatment of fractures around the hip; and treatment of Sacro-Iliac (SI) joint problems, groin pain, “sports hernia”, osteitis pubis, & pelvic floor pain.

Education:

Dr Brockwell received his medical degree from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 1989 and did his orthopedic residency training at Queen Mary Hospital, the teaching hospital of Hong Kong University, and fellowship training in London, UK. He entered private practice in 2002, and founded Asia Medical Specialists in 2005.

Dr Brockwell teaches hip surgery and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery.
