Sandy TANG

Shanghai United Family Hospital is committed to bringing you the premium orthodontic care and this starts with the education and experience of Dr. Sandy Tang. Dr. Tang had the rigorous academic instruction necessary for the field of orthodontics in two continents. After earning her dental degree from West China University of Medical Sciences with numerous publications and honors, Dr. Tang moved to the United States with the full scholarship in oral biology at the University of Missouri and graduated with a M.S degree. She then completed two years of residency training in advanced general dentistry at the University of Maryland, and continued with three years specialty training in Orthodontics at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Licensed to practice orthodontics in a large dental group in Houston, Texas, Dr. Tang did orthodontic treatment for thousands of patients of various ages, races and social background.

Dr. Tang is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the only certifying board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of orthodontics. The passage of this certification is a demonstration of Dr. Tang’s pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics.

Dedicated to her profession, Dr. Tang regularly attends professional conferences to stay abreast of new techniques and technology. Dr. Tang specializes in orthodontics and facial orthopedics for children and adults and is an active member of several organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southwest Society of Orthodontists and the Texas Orthodontics Association. She is also a member of the American Dental association.
