United Family Fengshang Clinic provides medical support to SRC United Nations Cup 2021

The two-daycompetition attracted nearly 200 tennis amateurs. Possible problems that can happen during a tennis game range from minor issues such as skin abrasions to sprains, fractures, heat stroke etc.  At times, serious emergency situations like cardiac arrest can occur too, which requires on-site CPR. Such an emergency would be quite demanding for an emergency team to manage on site. However, our medical team was well prepared and carried AED and other necessary medical supplies for trauma treatment.

Fortunately, during this recent tournament, the issues encountered by players requiring the medical team’s attention were mainly limited to muscle strains, bruises and skin abrasions. The treatments provided were ice pack applications, rinsing wounds, applying antibiotic ointments etc. Dr. Wang strongly recommended that players who take part in such activities warm up fully before the game. They also need to pay attention to getting adequate rest, and were advised to massage and stretch their muscles during the break.

At the same time, the Fengshang Clinic team was also joined by our Chief Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Xie Feng, who provided complimentary evaluations for children and was available to answer parents’ questions related to sports injuries in children and other orthopedic problems such as hip problems, ankle deformities, scoliosis, gait instability, flat feet, etc.
Dr. Xie Feng has more than 20 years of clinical experience, specializing in pediatric diagnosis and treatment of bone and joint deformities, fractures, bone cancers, and soft tissue tumors of the extremities, bone and joint inflammation treatment, and spastic cerebral palsy among others.
