CEO Cancer Gold Standard-China Task Force 3rd Annual Meeting

The 3rd CEO Cancer Gold Standard-China annual Task Force meeting was hosted on December 18, 2015 in the Shanghai United Family Hospital (SHU) “Yurt” meeting room. Mr. Emery Ray Brautigan, CEO of Shanghai United Family Hospital, opened the productive session

The cozy Yurt accommodated twenty five executives hailing from 16 organizations altogether, including leaders in government, industry, healthcare and the media.

Three doctors from Shanghai United Family Hospital spoke at the event. Dr. Mark WU (Physical Therapist and Chair of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department, Mark.wu@ufh.com.cn), Dr. Yong LEE (Chair of Family Medicine, Yong.lee@ufh.com.cn), and Dr. Ko Liu Ying (TCM Physician and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Programming, Ko.liuying@ufh.com.cn). They shared information about SHU’s health initiatives surrounding tobacco cessation, physical activity and wellness, nutrition, as well as CSR programming, which together helped the hospital earn China’s first ever Gold Standard-China accreditation.

Participants were also treated to an exclusive guided tour of Shanghai United Family Hospital, which showcased many of the hospital’s programs delivered to patients as well as to caregivers alike. After the presentation and tour, participants from China’s top tier hospitals mentioned their desire to quickly learn from SHU how to achieve this Gold Standard accreditation for their own hospitals, and pledged to initiate more health programs for their own staff and patients, in hopes of soon achieving this coveted recognition.

In keeping with the theme of the event, Shanghai United Family Hospital also provided participants with a specially prepared healthy, low calorie dinner.
