Xiaoyang LIU

Dr. Liu’s specialty includes affective disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and stress related disorders. She provides psychotherapy for adults, children (from the age of 10), couples, and families. She has special expertise in parent-child (adolescent) relationship counseling, couple counseling, and personal growth counseling.

In 2011, she graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine (7-year curriculum) with a master’s degree in Clinical Medicine. During 2010-2014, she received standardized psychiatric training in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, department of psychiatry, the Mental Health Center of Hangzhou City, department of children psychology, and the Mental Health Center of Zhejiang Province. She is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of all mental disorders.

Dr. Liu has extensive clinical experience, and applies psychotherapy techniques including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), dynamic psychotherapy and play therapy. Her work style focuses on understanding the reasons behind the symptoms from a psychological perspective and helping patients with integrated psychotherapy. Medication and physical therapy are also integrated when necessary. She is committed to providing patients with comprehensive services within her range of experience.
