Dr. Xie’s expertise lies in general gynecology and gynecological endocrinology, including the diagnosis and treatment of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, infertility, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menstrual disorders/abnormal uterine bleeding, menopausal diseases, cervical lesions, HPV infection and various gynecological inflammation.

Dr. Xie specializes in laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and other minimally invasive treatment for gynecological diseases, especially in the newly developed single-port laparoscopic surgery, case numbers ranked top in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Fudan University.

Education:

Dr. Xie received his undergraduate education in Medicine from the Department of Medicine, Shanghai Medical University in 1987. He then received his Medical Doctor degree in Clinical Medicine (Specialty of Obstetrics & Gynecology) from Shanghai Medical University in 1992.

Background:

Dr. Xie has more than 30 years of clinical practice experience. Before joining United Family Healthcare Shanghai, Dr. Xie worked for more than 20 years at Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital, Fudan University, which ranked first in China in obstetrics & gynecology hospitals.

Other experiences include:

From 1992 to 2001, Dr. Xie worked in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Shenzhen People’s Hospital, Guangdong province. He was appointed as the vice-director of the Department of Family Planning, being responsible for establishing the Reproductive Medicine program that enables the work of IVF-ET (in vitro fertilization & embryo transfer), etc.

From 2001 to 2006, Dr. Xie worked in the International Peace Maternity & Child Health Hospital, China Welfare Institute. He served as the Assistant President, Chief of the Department of Medical Education & Medical Affairs, and Director of the Endoscopic Ward.

Dr. Xie has also participated in multiple overseas exchange and training programs. He further studied and practiced in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong from Feb. 2003 to Feb. 2004. In 2004 and 2005, Dr. Xie visited Johns Hopkins Hospital in USA, Singapore KK Hospital and Seoul National University Hospital in South Korea.

Beside professional development, Dr. Xie also engages in multiple academic activities. He was a member of Gynecological Endoscopy Collaborative Group, Branch of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Shanghai Medical Association and East China Gynecological Endoscopy Collaborative Group, Branch of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Chinese Medical Association. He served as a Member, then Secretary & Member of the Standing Committee of Branch of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Shanghai Medical Association. He also was an appraiser of Forensic Clinical Appraisal of Shanghai Judicial Appraisal Center.

Dr. Xie is currently serving as an expert for Shanghai Medical Malpractice Appraisal Center.

Moreover, Dr. Xie participated in the compilation and translation of classical monographs in obstetrics & gynecology, such as “Practical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 3rd Edition)” and “Te Linde’s Operative Gynecology, eighth edition”. He has published 8 book chapters and more than 30 academic papers domestically and internationally.
