Meet Your Midwife: Midwife Clinic Visit

A hallmark of the obstetrical care you receive at Shanghai United Family Hospital & Clinics is one-on-one midwifery care during labor and birth. Meeting with our midwife team between 32 and 40 weeks, after a regular check up with your obstetrician, provides you with an opportunity to discuss:

• Your birth plan
• Breastfeeding
• Newborn care
• Questions you may have about your birthing choices and options
• Postpartum breastfeeding counseling

We also strongly encourage all first-time parents to attend our comprehensive pregnancy and childbirth classes which are given in English or Chinese. This teaching program is an important part of ongoing care and helps parents face pregnancy, delivery and parenthood with confidence and understanding.
