Shanghai United Family Hospital and the Urology Department of Renji Hospital, a university hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical School, has established strategic cooperation in management experience sharing, high-end market co-incubation, as well as experience sharing of diagnosis and treatment in urinary disorders. Special cooperation on urinary disorders include: early screening for urinary tumor; urinary calculi endovascular treatment; adult male and pediatric reproductive health; bladder and prostate diseases, and advanced consultation services in urology.

Regular outpatient service is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Department of Urology at Shanghai Renji Hospital was established more than 70 years ago as one of the first independent urological clinics in China. The Department is a training site for both urology specialists in China and the Societe Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) abroad. In 2001, with the approval of the Health Bureau, the Shanghai Institute of Andrology was established. In the same year, the National SFDA Pharmacology Base was established in the Urology Department. In 2003, the Shanghai Human Sperm Bank was established there with the approval of the Ministry of Health. In 2012, the Urology Department of Shanghai Renji Hospital was awarded National Key Clinical Specialty by the Ministry of Health.
